Anibal Vickacka – the ignition key

Anibal Vickacka

Since the age of 15 Anibal is a fanatic of motorcycles. In the streets of Buenos Aires he had his first drives that lead to further dreams of conquering vast lands with his bike. Anibal is director of Patagonia backroads and with its foundation turned his passion into his profession. He has a very communicative and outgoing personality and loves meeting people from around the world. He has travelled on a motorbike through Chile, Argentina, Germany, Holland, France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, the United States, Russia and Turkey.

Manuel Cárcamo – the engine

Manuel Cárcamo

Manuel is the so to speak backbone and second owner of Patagonia backroads. He used to have an enduro bike when he was younger, but he is actually more a boat fan nowadays. Nonetheless he is the man in charge if anything unexpected happens and will make the impossible possible. In our office he makes all the administrative work in the background, so chances to meet him are rather rare.

Alejandro Lago – the miracle worker

Alejandro Lago

Having won Alejandro as mechanic for our company, was the best thing that could have happened to us. He's also a passionate motorcyclist and competed and won many regional enduro off-road races. He keeps our bikes in top shape and his spotless repair shop surprises many of our clients. He will usually accompany the tours as a driver or on a bike.

Pablo Ascencio – the roadrunner

Pablo Ascencio

It is hard to find Pablo relaxing … for he is constantly on the move. He grew up in Santiago and after his tourism studies moved to Patagonia in 2001, where he settled down in Puerto Natales. He specialized in adventure tourism including Mountain bikes, Kayaks and Land Rovers in his programs to explore the Patagonian land and sea. He is a qualified trekking and mountain bike guide and has certificates from WFR (wilderness first responder) and RCP (first aid rescuing). In his free time he is very active and competes in various sports.

“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.”
